As a Licensed Clinical Community Service Providers, you will provide Children and Family Treatment Support Services (CFTSS). These mental health services available with New York State Children's Medicaid program, give children (up to age 21) and their families the power to improve their health, well-being and quality of life. This program is intended to offer opportunities to better meet the behavioral health needs of children early on and to prevent the onset or progression of behavioral health conditions. These services strengthen children and their families, and help them to make informed decisions about their care and are provided either at home or in the community. You will report to the Clinical Supervisor and you will work remote/hybrid.
Responsibilities
- Provide Home and Community-based Assessments, counseling, and treatment planning to children and their care givers.
- In Person, in the home, community-based, in office and telehealth to meet the needs of our clients.
- Complete an assessment of needs and recommendations for further medically necessary services, such as rehabilitation services. Services are delivered in a trauma informed, culturally and linguistically competent manner.
- Work with family members, advocates and other salient parties to identify goals of treatment. Provide observations and information to collateral contacts for the purpose of the progress and tracking of the Treatment Plan goals.
- Complete all required documentation for submission to the Supervisor within the required timeframes.
Requirements and Education
- Masters degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field.
- 1 year of related experience.
- NYS Professional Licensure/Limited Permit - LMFT, LMSW, LMHC, LCSW, and LCAT.
- NYS drivers license with a reliable vehicle, as work requires up to 50% community travel/client home visits.

Director of Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Youth Program

Northern Rivers Family of Services seeks a leader for the Youth ACT Crisis Response program in Schenectady, NY. Seeking an experienced professional who will develop and supervise a multi-disciplinary team that provides services to youth and families with the highest level of need in the community. The over-arching goals of the program are to prevent out-of-home placement, in-patient hospitalization, and involvement with the child welfare system by expanding services to youth ages 10 to 21 with significant psychiatric needs, who are at risk of institutional level of care, and who require intensive interventions to support the child and family’s complex needs.
The Director will also have the opportunity to develop their team’s skills to maximize their impact on the individuals and communities the Youth ACT program serves while also providing clinical and administrative oversight to the program in collaboration with the NYS OMH and NRFS leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interface with county mental health leadership to coordinate admissions to Youth ACT and successful discharges to lower levels of care
- Coordinate with prescribers, licensed mental health professionals, and team members with specialized expertise to provide youth and families with comprehensive care
- Facilitate team building, staff training, and staff supervision to develop a cohesive, high performing team
- Collaborate with agency leadership to develop the Youth ACT program as a best-practice model in New York State
- Provide outreach and education to community providers about Youth Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) including the program philosophy, outcomes, and best practices
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with other agencies, schools, hospitals, primary care providers, housing authorities, and law enforcement agencies to assist in meeting the needs of the youth and families served
- Provide direct services to youth and families through collaboration with members of the multi-disciplinary team
- Ensure the development of person-centered, youth-driven treatment plans that assist youth and families in addressing their barriers and creating real and lasting change in their lives
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Master's degree
- 1-2 years of progressively responsible related experience
CERTIFICATION / LICENSURE

Are you looking to make a difference in the lives of youth and families struggling with behavioral health issues? Do you want to develop and supervise your own team and mentor your staff to improve their clinical skills? As the Team Lead of Home Based Crisis Intervention (HBCI), you will provide clinical supervision, support, and mentorship to your team to help them change lives. The HBCI team provides short-term (up to 6 weeks), intensive intervention to youth and families who are in crisis. We work with parents and caregivers to help them help their children. The short-term format means the work is fast-paced and outcome oriented, which means you and your team will produce meaningful outcomes in a short period of time. You will report to the Chief of Crisis Services and work on-site with travel required.
Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical supervision to the team and be responsible for allocation of staff time; provide training and ensure all team members are kept informed of issues.
- Monitor caseload size and coordinate program intakes and discharges.
- Create rotating call schedule for after-hours / weekend coverage by team members.
- Provide education and outreach to the community about HBCI at Northern Rivers; philosophy, program outcomes, theoretical background etc.
- Develop collaborative relationships with other agencies, schools, hospitals, primary care providers, and local government agencies to help meet the needs of this population so they can achieve and maintain their independence.
- Assist primary clinicians to conduct needs assessments, safety planning and wellness management planning with participants. Connect participants and families with the services and support they need. Provide psychoeducation regarding mental health diagnosis and treatment. Develop treatment using a shared decision-making process with clients.
- Assist primary clinicians to respond to on-call needs of families in crisis and deliver crisis intervention services in home-based environment with flexible scheduling cognizant of family needs, with 24/7 availability nights, weekends and holidays.
- Promote safety of the child, family, and community in the delivery of crisis intervention services.
- Assist primary clinicians to conduct comprehensive assessment of family strengths, values, skills, problems, need and barriers to goal attainment while developing a positive working relationship with the families.
- Collaborate and advocate with formal and information community resources and systems that impact family while teaching family members to advocate for themselves and prepare them for transition and service closure.
Requirements and Education:
- Requires a Master’s degree and at least one year of progressively responsible related experience. Experience in a home-based and/or crisis intervention services program. Candidates with training in the Homebuilder model of crisis intervention are preferred.
- Must be a licensed mental health professional. These include, but are not limited to: Licensed Psychologists, Licensed Clinical/Masters Social Workers, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Licensed Mental Health Counselors, or Licensed Creative Arts Therapist.

As a Foster Care Home Finder, you will recruit, train, certify, and maintain foster and pre-adoptive foster homes to children from birth through age 21 who have been removed from their homes and placed in foster care. As a Greenhouse Coordinator, you will development and implementation of the botanical classroom instructional plans for students. You will report to the Transition Learning Coordinator and you will work onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Provide subject area instruction (Green house and plan based botanical) that provides students with appropriate level lessons and age experiences.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Sidney Albert Training and Research Institute (SATRI) provides curriculum design, development and training to internal professionals as well as those individuals served by external contracts executed by the Institute. These contracts may be with various departments within the State of New York, School Districts, Human Service Agencies or community based entities. This position is responsible to fulfill training for external training contracts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Deliver curricula including supporting educational materials as assigned.
- Design, develop, research, write curricula,
- Implement adult-professional training programs.
- Prepare all written reports, maintain records, and issue certificates of attendance.
- Maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with Agency colleagues and engage in diversity, constructive communication both within and outside of the Agency.
- Assume training responsibilities as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Requires a Bachelors degree and at least two years of related experience. Masters degree in Human Service Field is preferred.
Experience required includes the following:
- Proven ability to design, develop, research, write curricula, and implement adult- professional training programs.
- Must have content knowledge, presentation skills, and knowledge sufficient to teach effectively on a variety of clinical subject areas, treatment and intervention, childhood development, child and adolescent behavioral disorders, management, supervision and leadership issues, and crisis and de-escalation techniques. Knowledge of OMH and OCFS Waiver preferred.
- Computer skills include PowerPoint, use of a virtual classroom, and various data management systems preferred.
- Teaching/training or public speaking experience required.
- Mental health and child welfare experience is preferred.
- Must have valid drivers license, vehicle available, and be able to travel as required.

Foster Care Supervisor Home Finder

As a Recruitment Coordinator for Foster Care, you will provide administrative supervision of Home Finders in the Foster Care program and will oversee recruitment, training, retention, and case management of prospective and certified foster and kinship families. You will be a representative for the Agency within the community as it pertains to recruitment. You will report to the Director of Foster Parent Recruitment and Retention and will work in a hybrid model.
Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision and professional development of home finders in the program, assuring that workers have the resources needed to perform their job responsibilities.
- Create and implement agency recruitment and retention plans of foster parents and kinship parents.
- Review organization and content of foster parent records to ensure OCFS regulatory standards, COA, and agency standards are met.
- Approval of all certifications, re-certifications and safety assessments of foster and kinship parents. Approve and oversee the implementation of all Performance Improvement Plans and Corrective Actions Plans of foster and kinship parents.
- Oversee the implementation of post certification training opportunities are offered to foster parents.
- Provide proper documentation for all supervisory activities.

Job Summary | The Administrative Specialist serves as the primary point of contact in the Office of the President for visitors and callers and is responsible for ensuring that all parties receive prompt, professional and courteous attention when contacting the President’s Office. Job Summary | The Department of Biological Sciences at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY invites applications for tenure-track/tenured faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor levels. We seek passionate and innovative individuals with demonstrated potential to establish a strong externally funded research program and contribute to the teaching mission of the department. All exceptional candidates will be considered, and we encourage applications from individuals who will bring a unique research approach and skill set to address fundamental problems in neurobiology, cell and developmental, biology, broadly defined. Successful candidates will complement the department research strengths in cellular neuroscience, circadian biology, molecular motors & cytoskeleton dynamics, muscle physiology & disease, neurodegeneration, protein design, folding, structure & functional dynamics, protein misfolding in human disease, microbiology & host-pathogen interactions, biophysics of extreme environments, and freshwater ecology & climate change. Candidates for the rank of Assistant Professor must exhibit promise of future distinction in research, scholarship, and education. For candidates at the Associate or full Professor level, the applicant must possess a record of excellence in scholarship as demonstrated by an emerging national and/or international reputation, a significant funding record, high quality educational activities including teaching and advising, and service to the department, university, and profession. The successful candidate will be expected to establish/maintain an externally funded research program, participate in collaborative, multi-investigator research and research training initiatives, and contribute to the high impact teaching program in the Department of Biological Sciences. The successful candidate will join the faculty in the 218,000 square foot Center for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies (CBIS), which contains staff-supported core facilities and promotes an atmosphere for interdisciplinary collaboration. The Institute for Data Exploration and Applications (IDEA) enables an opportunity to partner with faculty that are at the forefront of biological data analytics, enabling the modeling and simulation power to advance the quantitative and systems biology approaches that are widely employed in the department. IDEA and the Center for Computational Innovation provide collaborative opportunities to use the fastest supercomputer found at a private university. More recently, Rensselaer and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai launched the Center for Engineering and Precision Medicine (CEPM) in New York City to engage in both fundamental and translational biomedical research both in New York City and the Troy campus, expanding collaborative opportunities with a world class medical school for Rensselaer faculty.
